Big thanks to all for a very successful Hasler.
Great racing by all the regional clubs; special mention to Banbury (out of region) who turned up in force - great to see you all here.
RLSCC topped the club point leader board and for that we have to thank the efforts of the Recreational section whose contribution to the points total took us from fourth to first (Tess, Janet and Brian welcome to the dark side!). Big thanks also for the support…Continue

Well done to all the paddlers for a great weekend - the club goes from strength to strength.
Two National Champions:
Under 12 Lightning men - Timothy Dowden
Under 10 Lightning women - Emma Smithson
Many great results, that will be published when the formal results are out, with paddlers racing in the lower end of the age groups.

Another succesful weekend for the club.
A strong performance from the whole team with Tim, Philip and Alex coming in 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and Adam finishing in 5th.
Div 9 K1
The performance of the day saw Jo in her first divisional race. It was a wake up call for all prents to get their fingers out and get on the water - well…Continue

On a wet and windy day on the Thames the club was represented by Ben, James and William.
Entry into two races and two first places.
Div 9 K2
Ben and James entered their first Div 9 race as a pair and were pitched against a combined field of Div 9 and Div 8 boats - 13 in total.
The boys paddled strongly and won the combined race. As two Div 8 ladies crossed the line they were heard saying " we were beaten by those little boys".

The weekend of the 1st and 2nd of September saw the focus for the racing team move from marathon to sprint racing at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham.
A relatively large team assembled for the end of year National Championships with Kayak and Canoe racing over 200m, 500m and 1000m.
There were some notable individual results (see below) but arguably the biggest success belonged to the lightning paddlers who won the mini-sprint series for the first time. The series…Continue
Congratulations to RLSCC paddlers.
William came second out of eleven in his first division 5 race.
James came first out of a field of 18 in the lightning race.
Ryan had to pull out out the division 5 race because he hit his paddle on the bottom of the shallow lake and ended up pulling a muscle.

Another successful duathlon race for the RLSCC racing team.
The race was held at Barrow upon Soar which was a stand in event following the cancellation at Burton. The location was great for the race and the course was enjoyed by all. Hopefully they will hold a marathon there in the summer.
It was a lovely day when the paddlers arrived, but as soon as the first boat was on the water the heavens opened and it rained solidly until the last boat was off the…Continue
